We Do Not Name Illnesses

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

I am part of an Intenders Circle where a group of us get together every week and set our intentions of what we wish to create in our lives.  There are many who come to our circle with illnesses and have the intention of healing them.  One of our “rules” in the intenders circle is that we never name illnesses.

By naming our illness we are constantly reaffirming and giving others the picture of us as ill rather than well.  What we focus on tends to take root in our lives.  If we walk around saying “I have” fill in the blank, you are owning that illness.  Who wants to do that?

Instead of naming our illness and saying “we want to be cured or healed from” fill in the blank, we say “I intend that I am in perfect health”.  We begin to see ourselves as healthy and our intuitive self automatically guides us towards that which will assist us in that process.

For example, after you state the intention of perfect health you may find yourself craving certain foods, or stumbling upon a special whole food nutrient that changes your internal environment.  You may find yourself guided to fast or cleanse or do a number of things.

The mind is very powerful in its ability to create.  It will create either consciously or unconsciously.  Since most of us aren’t thrilled with the unconscious results in our lives, it is in our best interest we learn how to create from a conscious level.  We can create a healthy body, first by intending to do so and second by taking powerful action steps in our lives to bring that about.

I invite you to give this intention process a try in your life and let me know how it works for you.
